Evaluation
For this assignment I was given the task to create a digital graphic for a company of my choosing. For this work I decided to create a logo for a children’s film company for this task I took my audience in to consideration. The software I used to create the logo was Photoshop, however I initially used InDesign but I decided to use Photoshop as it would allow me to have more freedom with my design. After completing my logo and using the Photoshop software I feel that I am more competent with using the software then I did initially ¬¬¬, however I feel that if I was to spend more time further bettering my understanding of the software I would have had a better end product. To see whether my logo was to a professional standard I compared it to other logos in the same industry, for this I compared my logo to the Walt Disney logo which features an animated castle which has text underneath it. Compared to my logo I feel that the Disney logo is more complex and its design is more intricate compared to my own logo.
The software I used to create my logo was Photoshop, firstly I opened up the software and created a grey square. I created the grey square using the create a rectangle tool, I then created a circle and filled it with a light shade of grey. After I did this I created a star and made it pink and place it over the circle, I then created a text box and filled it with the letters T and B. I placed the letters in the centre of the star. After I had finished creating my logo I converted it into a JPEG and changed the resolution of the image to 72, I did this as I wanted to be able to place my logo on websites and pages and by converting it to  makes it easier. From completing my logo I feel that my logo communicates well to my target audience, from the design of my logo I feel that gives off an informal, friendly and fun tone. I feel that my logo is clear about what is about. From the logo it is clear to see that it has something to do with film which I feel is good as it makes the audience aware of what it is about. At the beginning of the task I had limited knowledge and skill set for both illustrator and Photoshop however over the weeks continually using the software has helped me become more proficient with it.
Upon reflection of my finished logo I feel that I could have made improvement in certain areas, of my work. One way I could have improved my work is by selecting a colour scheme which would stand out more, as I think this would allow me to attract my audience more. I also think that if I created a logo which had an image I feel like it would have made the logo more memorable. I would also try to be more consistent with my uploads to my blogger page as I sometimes I forgot to upload my work to my page.
One of my first concept design for my logo was this design, I created this logo as I wanted to create something which was simplistic and told my audience my brand name. I used a bold font and use two colours black and sky blue. I was inspired by DreamWorks logo to create this logo however, I decided not to go with this logo as I thought this logo was too simplistic and wasn’t creative enough to capture my target audience.

This second logo concept art was a design of cartoon film camera, I created this by first creating a rounded rectangle and filling it black. I then created a small square and placed it over the rounded rectangle, after I did this I created two black circles. I then created a text box and put my company name in white, I selected this colour as I thought it would stand out more in the black background.  I liked this design however if I could change the design in hindsight I would try a use a font which would fit in more with the message of my logo.  I would change the colour scheme and make the colour scheme much brighter which is more appropriate for my audience.

I feel that planning and doing sketches for my logo was helpful, as it allowed me to have a clearer idea of want type of logo I wanted create. Planning the logo also helps me able to see what design worked best with trying to attract my target audience, it also allowed me to make some mistakes and see which ways to improve upon them. In terms of creativity for my logo I feel like showed abit of creativity with it I changed it up from where I got my initial idea however, I feel with my overall design I think I could have gone for a more ambitious logo which would enable me to show a bigger range of my skills. Compared to other logos in my market I feel that my logo is much more simplistic which is benefits as well as hinders my logo, as a more simple design could be memorable however they might not be attracted to it as it is not as exciting and bold compared to other logos.¬ I also felt that doing the production log was helpful as it helped me work towards my goals and helped keep motivated to make sure I completed my work at specific times.

¬¬From initial design my logo has changed drastically, I initially just started off with text but I developed it to include an image with it, changed the font as well as the colour scheme. I did this as I felt that only having the text made my logo look boring and uninteresting, I felt that it wouldn’t be exciting enough to attract my target audience. I also got rid of my whole company name as I wouldn’t be able to fit the whole text in, so I shortened it and made it bold.

After completing my logo I got my peers tow write written feedback about my logo.
